Name: Rissterus
Age: 26
Race: Human
Profession: Sorcerer, Scholar, and Adventurer
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral. (Not aligned with any government.)
Appearance: Rissterus has brown hair of medium length, not quite reaching shoulder length. His eyes are ice blue, not quite fitting in with the rest of his appearance. He has no distinguishing marks on his face except a lack of scars or tattoos.
Rissterus doesn't stand out in a crowed, height-wise. He's only 5'8", and usually has to look up to in order to look a man in the eye.
His outfit is a mix of clothing taken from standard dress of scholars and sorcerers, as well as elements of the adventurer. He wears the white under-tunic which most scholars choose, the black sash and outer cloak of a Sorcerer. A red scarf is wrapped around his neck, though it is not always visible, beneath his cloak. Sturdy hide boots adorn his feet. An ancient sword-belt is hidden under his cloak, sheathing Excellethin. When in the wild, Rissterus wears a pair of black leather gloves. The fingertips on the left-hand glove have been slit off (Rissterus is left-handed) to make it easier for him to wield objects.
Because he's from the Northern lands, Rissterus' speaks with a bit of a Northern accent. However, due to the fact that he's lived in Arysia for years and years, he's become so accostomed to Arysian culture and language that he speaks and acts just like an Arysian. Few people take him to be anything other than an Arysian.
Personality: Rissterus has dedicated his life to the study of lore and magic. He has never been truly attached to anyone or anything, preferring to retain the freedom of being a loner. He cares little of the affairs of Arysia unless they effect him in some way. The only person Rissterus truly cares about is himself.
When Rissterus would discover a new spell, or hear about some long-lost tomb or magical item, Rissterus would put his skills to the test and venture off into the wild to find it. He does not like travelling in groups, but he knows how to be a team player when he does. While he has never studied the art, he fancies himself to be a decent strategian.
Strengths and Weakness:
+ Rissterus started early in life, and has acquired a great proficiency with magic.
+ Because he had always operated alone, he has learned the virtue of self-reliance.
- Rissterus can be considered arrogant. He doesn't like to consider himself fallible in any area, and that leads to overconfidence.
- He does not have very much money. This limits him a great deal at some times.
- Rissterus usually turns a blind eye to the events going on around him (i.e. the invaders, etc.). Perhaps this will eventually do him harm.
Weapon/Magic: While Rissterus carries Excellethin, Sword of Sorcerers, which he claimed from an ancient tomb, he rarely wields it. His power in sorcery is strong, having learned much in his many years of study and exploration.
Color: Teal
History: Rissterus' comes from the Northern provinces, beyond Arysia - the same lands the Invaders came from. Except Rissterus isn't one of the Invaders; he ventured from his land at an early age. Rissterus' first interaction with the Arysian world was when he was 15, when he entered one of the Northern Cities. Already then, he had skill with magic, and it was apparent he had already decided on his life's goal; to gather knowledge and power. Since then he's learned a good deal of lore, discovered several ancient artifacts, and grown in power.
On one of his adventures, Rissterus ventured into an ancient mine and discovered the burial tomb of the ancient sorcerer Xorthin. It was in that deadly crypt that Rissterus found and claimed the Excellethin, Sword of Sorcerers. The blade had constantly appeared throughout history in the hands of powerful sorcerers.
