Your Exact Complaint or Problem : No complaint or problem, just a few weird nitpickery " I hope I'm getting the lore annoyingly right" questions I am horribly prone to doing.
1- Spirits- Not quite getting their origin. From what I've seen on various interpretations of spirits in the past, they can be one of many things. Are they, then, ghosts risen and bound to their form? Or, if I'm pulling the right conclusions from what I'm reading in terms of magic, the sort of 'spirits' that represent, oh, say, different elemental attributes/aspects of nature/that stuff. Like a spirit representing fire being bound to human form (and thusly being a skilled fire mage). Or something.
2-Mortia and Spirits- Gotta ask about the relationship between her and her minions. More specifically, how the spirits came to serve her. Did she summon them and/or give them life, and they follow her out of the devotion a child shows its mother? Or has she enslaved them to serve her? In that, are spirits evil? Good being forced to play evil? Or are they a mix of both?
Any particular person you would like to solve your problem : Destiny, dahling, would you be so kind?

Hi! I'll be happy to answer these questions. Spirits are born as spirits normally. No turned races are allowed on Arysia (thus the restriction on werewolves/vampires) only races that are born in that form. (Spirits reproduce by mingling essences and then dividing under favorable circumstances, but no new spirits have been born since the spirits were enslaved by Mortia) Unlike other interpretations of spirits, spirits are simply formless beings that have their own characteristics and quirks, and though formless in their natural form (in which they are most powerless, though still able to protect themselves) and they can change into any type of creature already found in Arysia, but will not get the powers of the said creature, just their form. However, having formidable magic of their own, it doesn't matter so much. The spirits, before the reign of Mortia, were free. However, Mortia being an extremely powerful sorceress was able to capture all of these spirits (a lot of them by simply catching them in their formless for) and then bound them to herself and to immortality by sorcery of great power. Some spirits hate her and lack the power to oppose her, others like her ideals but still hate their slavery. They have their own ideals, and can be good and bad according to their own natures, but none can get free of her or betray her, as she has had many spells layered one or top of the other to enslave them. Also, Mortia had more minions than just spirits, most of which had spells on them and many were immortal. She was amazingly powerful, and still is. Hope that answers your questions, and I hope you decide to join!
