“Don't worry about the game, it is only that. A game. Next time we play you will be able to join in.” Roy was rather surprised that Drea had opened up to him so much, he half expected her to be a hard and stoic warrior who had the pride of a lion. It seemed though that he was wrong, she wasn't the stoic but emotional warrior, although looks can be deceiving.
“Great job, it looks great.” commenting on the small spire of dirt that he had formed out of the ground. With his smile still on his face he began to clap for her success. ”What happens if you draw the magic circle wrong or something like that? Or say the words wrong? Nothing...or something dangerous?" Roy thought for a moment before answering, “Well, If you draw the circle wrong it shouldn't have any real consequences besides the fact that it wouldn't have the exact same effect as a catalyst. Different circles act differently. If you say the spell wrong then you will perform either no spell, a different spell, or if you are adept enough then you wont even need he spell. I'm so with few types of magic which is why I train so that I can become able to cast any spell with no circles or words at all. Like so.” With a snap of his finger a small spark appeared, only for a second though before it faded back into the blackness. “There are other way to master magic of course, Robin's magic style is most likely different than mine and his different from another's. My master could wink and blow up a tree, or snap and make water into ice. He was very powerful and he used all that power to make my life 'fun'” saying 'fun' in a sarcastic tone.
“We should get back, Joerm is probably worried about you or trying to eat Robin. Lets go.” Roy stood up and offered his hand to Drea in an attempt to help her up. A soft wind blew across his face that made him glad to be alive, then as if chasing the first, came a cold and bitter wind. It made him feel unease for a quick moment before it passed. He looked up at the stars in the sky before shrugging his shoulders and replacing his confused head with a smile.

Sometimes there were times when she wondered who she was. Now was a time like that. It had been years since she had spoken to anyone like she had spoken to Roy, not even to Joerm, not to her parents, and she had only known Roy for a very little while, fragments of the evening, really. Odd. If she believed in destiny she would have said that it was destined for her to talk to him and sort her life out, but she didn't believe in fate. Something was wrong with her. She smiled at him, though. "I know...sometimes I'm just-you know..."
She smiled, excited, when he praised her effort. "Thanks...it's amazing, this magic...I know how Joerm felt now, you know, when he breathed dragon fire for the first time." She managed a shaky laugh. Had that been only an hour or so ago? Why did it seem like a lifetime? She gazed in wonder as she saw Roy bring a dazzling spark out of thin air, still marveling at the mysteries of this strange art. "So there is more than one way of doing magic, huh? Is it like some of you can only control one element or something like that. It's what I've heard." She grinned at the sarcastic reference of his master. "Do almost all young magicians learn from masters?"
Everybody, apparently, had their own type of magic. It seemed so, Robin seemed to have mastered the magic enough so as not to have to speak the spells, at least for this particular brand of magic, and he hadn't drawn any circles or anything. Possibly Robin came from a brand of magicians who were less technical than Roy, people who were self-learned. She could not tell of course. Most like it was just her imagination. She laughed again when Roy mentioned that they should go back, and when he listed the reasons. "I talked to Joerm a little while ago...you know...mentally. And I don't think he'll eat Robin, he doesn't like human flesh, he told me that long ago." She made a face. "He'll never tell me when he's tried it though. In a way I'm glad, actually."
She took his proferred hand and got up, missing the look on his face, and started walking towards their campsite, where Joerm was staring at Robin in a rather testy way. She smiled uneasily and then said, "Umm...hi..." Joerm turned and once again half-flew half-hopped towards her, his warm body against her leg. She bent so that she was on one knee and then hugged him, without regard for his sharp scales or extremely hot body.

As Robin played with the fire silently, being scrutinezed closely by Joerm, Drea returned to the clearing and sat down on Joerm's body. His gaze left the flames, and immediately his control of the fire vanished, the fire returning to its normal, roaring state. He watched her as she greeted him, smiling and replying, "Hello."
He let the silence continue for a minute of so, until he broke it by asking her, "So, erm, why'd you leave suddenly?", staring at her, checking if she still had her temper. It appeared as if she had calmed down, so Robin added, "Was it the game? If you were scared, I could teach you how to control it or even to use magic, if you want", offering his tutelage, unaware that she had already agreed to be taught by Roy. "Just don't expect too much", he added, grinning slightly.
"But more on that later," he said, wondering if she would discuss with him what happened in the woods. "Did Roy calm you down?" he asked, noticing that Roy had not yet come to the clearing. "Where is he anyway?" asking something yet again, still unable to control his curiosity.
While waiting for her reply, he remembered his unease with being left with Joerm. He was afraid that the dragon might hurt -- or worse, eat -- him, so he decided that it would be better to make sure if Joerm enjoys human flesh. "When you left me with Joerm..." he began addressing Drea but glancing at Joerm. "I think he was a bit wary of me", he said in an undertone. "Well, erm, no, what I'm really trying to ask here is...Does he eat humans?" he blurted out, slightly apprehensive of the answer.

Roy nodded,he knew how emotions affected people at the most random times. He had experienced similar feelings before as had many other people. “Yes magic is very spectacular, when used for what ever means, fun, war, peace, what ever the situation magic always portrays itself as an art.” They continued to walk and talk about the wonders of magic as small woodland animals began to creep into their homes for a night of rest and relaxation.
”Is it like some of you can only control one element or something like that. It's what I've heard.”
Roy smirked and looked down at her, “Some of you? You make us mages sound like a completely different species or civilization or something like that. What are we, lawyers?” He gave a short laugh before going into an explanation. “Some mages are just that. They can control one element with the blink of an eye, and simple mental concentration, as I can do with electricity. Then you have some mages who can perform different spells and are much more flexible then the single elemental, but they won't have as high of a skill with the element as an elemental would, usually at least. Finally there are the alchemist as I call them, who use potions that have magical effects on the body. I haven't even touched this type of magic, ever and I don't plan to until I have become more skilled with my own magic. Ah, the clearing is just a head.”
As they came close to the wall that separated the forest from the clearing Roy stopped and allowed Drea to go on ahead with out him. Turning around he walked back out into the woods, and looked up into the sky. “The stars are so lovely. Shinning through the curtain of leaves and branches. It reminds me of that night, six years ago when I lost you.” His nose was filled with the pleasant aroma of spring flowers just bidding at the end of a long winter. His ears where filled with the voice of a woman, whispering her undying affection into his ear as they lay under a large apple tree at the top of a hill. The image was perfect in all forms as he laid next to an attractive woman with a slim and gentle figure, her long hair colored a light brown, put into a braid going down to her shoulder blades. Closing his eyes, Roy was fully immersed into the memory.
We laid atop that hill for hours upon end, starring up at the night sky as we dreamed of our new life together. I'd turn and look at her, those large brown eyes gazing up softly into the darkness only wishing to see the light that cut through the darkness. “Roy, do you know why I love the night sky?” she would ask, and I'd smile, as I did every night I was with her, and answer “Why, it is only darkness?” and she would place that gentle smile on her face and look at me, “That's just like you Roy, you'd miss everything if it wasn't in front of your nose.” Then she would press her forehead up to mine, to make sure she was right in front of my nose so I'd see her, and I'd laugh “Oh, I didn't see you there, my God you are gorgeous, What's your name?” Only ro be answered by a head butt and rude name calling. “Pervert” Then she would look back up to the sky and say, “The night sky is much like life. It can get dark and hard to find the way, but in the end you can find your light. Like following the north star home, you follow that light until your sunshine returns to you.”
Roy opened his eyes and he memory faded, he smiled wildly at the remembrance of his love. “I will find you, my north star, I only ask that you wait for me to find you.” HE turned and walked back into the clearing. “Hello everyone. Sorry for the short absence.”

“Some of you? You make us mages sound like a completely different species or civilization or something like that. What are we, lawyers?” She grinned along with him. "Well, it feels that way. At least it used too, but now I don't feel the same because I know what it's like and that anyone can do it. At least a little bit of it. Alchemy sounds interesting though-" She frowned. "I knew a healer once who was a marvel with cures. Now it seems to me that it was more like that he practiced this form of magic." She shrugged. "On the battlefield, people aren't too curious about how someone's healing them, as long as they are." She scrunched her nose. "But lots of people are suspicious of magic and don't like it touching them...silly really."
"So, erm, why'd you leave suddenly?" She smiled at Robin, yet once again she had to think about her answer. She shrugged, trying to blow it off. "Actually, umm...let's just say I was a little left out," she said casually, with a small smile. "And thanks for offering to teach me...it's just that...uh...Roy is already teaching me. But as he says, everyone has their own style - I'm sure I could learn from both of you." She looked back at the thicket, from where she was sure she had heard something. "He's just coming actually. I wonder who he's talking to."
She laughed out loud when she heard Robin's next question. "Well, dragons do occasionally eat humans, but Joerm's a little small for that now...and besides, he told me once that we taste absolutely awful. So, you don't need to worry." It was strange, her dragon's antagonism with Robin, both he and Roy seemed to have noticed it. She wished he knew why he did not trust Robin, but too much depended on his innate instinct. It could be wrong, of course, but she would of course be cautious. She already knew what happened when she didn't listen to Joerm.
She looked at Roy as he entered the thicket, apologizing for being late. "No problem. Were you talking to someone? There were voices." She could here Joerm's voice in her head. "Only one." and wondered why Roy was talking to himself. But she did not ask. In everyone's life there were dark shadows - the gods knew that there were some things she would never tell Roy. So she did not even try to pry.

Drea replied to his question casually, as if the answer was simple and not that important. She had implied that she felt a little bit left out at their game, and Robin accepted her answer, although from what little he knew about Drea, she did not seem like the type to be bothered by something so petty. Indeed, he thought that something else had bothered her, perhaps the flames themselves. "Oh, I see...", returning her small smile with a smile of his own.
Then she revealed that Roy would be her teacher in the arcane arts, and that she might like to learn from both of them, since Roy had revealed that most sorcerers have different styles in using the arts. Robin nodded, knowing that particular bit of information. An idea sprung in his head, remembering that he had a few books focusing on magic and how to use it mentally, without spells or 'catalysts', and that he might loan the books to Drea. "Well, erm, I have a few books about the basics of the style of sorcery my parents taught me..." he began, reaching for his pack, his hand groping in the darkness until he felt the familiar leather cloth and pulled it towards him. "Would you like to borrow them?" he asked, taking out a small, thin book bound in brown leather and, with the exception of the golden script of which the title, 'Basic Direction of the Elements', was written, it looked like any old book or ledger. He reached his hand out, offering the book for her to take and perhaps, learn from.
She also answered her question about Joerm, laughing as she did so. Robin nodded sheepishly, relieved that Joerm would not eat him, although the noticable air of tension surrounding him and the dragon probably wouldn't change anytime soon. He accepted the fact that he might be distrusted and he considered himself lucky that he wasn't refused food and company because of it.
Roy then entered their small camp, back from the foliage. "Hello Roy", Robin greeted him, and, unlike Drea, did not have the sense to refrain from asking "What took you so long? Were you relieving yourself or something?".

The night was cool, the breeze keeping his scent downwind, away from the dragon. Guldan watched the group quietly, waiting, watching the group of five talk and practice magic. Many things happened as Guldan watched, what started as two quickly grew. One such strange moment was the women, Drea as he heard her tell the other as well as spoken by them, who stormed off angry all of a sudden, thinking of following her seeing what was wrong, she was then followed the man named Roy, a mage as he said, followed her. Instead, Guldan watched the other mage, Robin, play with the fire, and sit awkwardly with the dragon named Joerm, who wasn't fully grown. Suddenly Drea came back and hugged her dragon, and Robin then started to ask a numerous amount of questions curious questions. Roy at this time was talking with himself, probably reminiscing a memory, who then entered the camp as Robin offered a book to Drea.
Guldan wasn't sure why he followed the dragon rider, but he knew she had a reason heading for the east, and he wanted to know it. After so many conversations for at least a good two hours led him to his conclusion, they were looking into the rumors, or better yet, maybe hunting the spirit Mortia. Finally making his decision, Guldan stepped out of the tree he was hiding, and still downwind, walked quietly near the camp, it was here he would announce himself, hopefully he wasn't going to be attacked, but he was quick and agile, and if push came to shove he had a good amount of paralyzing powder in his bag. Stepping into the clearing, he said in as friendly as possible: "Greetings, My name is Guldan. Do not be alarmed, if I truly wanted to kill you I would of done it earlier, perhaps while you were playing you 'Elemental catch,' I just so happened to know a little about this Mortia you were talking about, but before I continue, I want to truly know your names," Guldan said, hinting he may have already know them.

"A few books," she told Robin, with an excited smile. "That would be amazing." In retrospect, it was not so amazing that she did not know magic, it appeared that it had to be taught to the person. Robin seemed to have learned from his parents, while Roy had learned from some master. It was not that there had been no one to teach her - but the only one who possibly could have did not want to do so, it would appear. It made her sad to think of him, to think of betrayal, but she took a deep breath and let it go. That had been a long time ago. She did not know, however, that her face had betrayed her sorrow, if only for a moment, betrayed the wistfulness.
She accepted the book from Robin greatfully, but it was a long book, not one she was likely to finish at that time. "May I keep for a few days? I mean, I don't know where we'll all be at the morrow, but I'll give it back to you before we go." It was a mighty thing to borrow, that book. She laid it carefully on the little rock where she had been sitting, full of awe and wonder. A book of magic...now that was a thing to marvel. She smiled at Robin, a sincere smile unlike most of her general smiles.
But now Joerm was looking in some other direction, suddenly tense for the third time that evening. Once again, she touched the hilt of her dagger but did not bother with pulling it out. It was not very helpful to do that anyway. Suddenly, someone else entered the clearing. Joerm snarled at the man angrily, and together they listened to his pompous greeting and the knowledge that he had been watching them for a long time. And then at his impertinent way of saying that he could have killed them. It made her angry, but it made Joerm even more angry.
As the sudden anger coursed through the dragon, their emotions mingled into one, till she was not sure who was whom. She pulled herself away in sudden alarm. It would never do to believe that she was Joerm or the other way around, it was not only dangerous it was also very foolish. Upset at that, she looked at "Guldan" as he named himself with stony anger. "We owe you no answers," she said coolly. "And if you have information to give us you may give it to us right now. You have already admitted to have listened to our conversations by mentioning the game, no doubt you would have discerned our names."

Roy looked to Drea as she asked about who he was asking too, but she quickly seemed to change her mind as she looked to be talking to Joerm mental. He took in a breath to start a reply when Robin chipped in his own question, relieve myself... I guess you could say that.. he laughed at the thought as he answered. “Well, I was just think about old times and my reas-” Cyrus began to bark as another person entered the clearing, a man with the eyes of the Nile. “Excuse-” His words where cut of as the man began to speak.
"Greetings, My name is Guldan. Do not be alarmed, if I truly wanted to kill you I would of done it earlier, perhaps while you were playing you 'Elemental catch,' I just so happened to know a little about this Mortia you were talking about, but before I continue, I want to truly know your names,"
Roy fully turned his body to get a god look at this man, starting with his eyes, red at the blood that this man has drained from victims, to his crimson hair that flowed from under his clocked hood. Then he followed his body, tracing all of the man's weapons and attire, he was an assassin or a rouge, that much was sure. Roy gave Robin a glance and then looked to Drea, who was startled into a rage by the man. “Drea silence yourself.”
Walking forward he placed his hand on Drea's shoulder and leaned in to whisper into her ear. “Don't let your anger and surprise cloud you judgment, We don't want any blood to be shed, allow me to have a word with this man. If that doesn't work, then shred him to pieces.” Removing his hand from Drea Roy moved over to Guldan and stepped in front of him, looking the Rejegh in the eyes. “My name is Roy, I'm glad to make your acquaintance though I don't appreciate it when you threaten my friends or make assumptions that you could kill us.” Offering his hand to Guldan he smiled “That isn't very polite and it wont help you make a lot of friends in life.” He let out a small laugh as he released Guldan's hand. “Now please, what do you know of Mortia? And please no lies, it's not a good way to make friends either.”

Robin watched as Drea's smile when she received the book. He thought that her smile seemed different somehow, as her face lit up when she did. She asked if she could borrow the book until they part ways, and Robin replied, "Of course, but remember that that book teaches a different style of magic from the one Roy taught you and that -" but he was interrupted because there seemed to be a commotion as everybody grew tense and looked at a certain direction.
A man arrived at their clearing, boasting about how he could've killed them, but declined to do so, and even implied that he knew their names. Robin was annoyed; anyone would've been if a person said that to you. Drea and Joerm were angry, while Roy glanced at him, perhaps indicating that he had to be cautious. He also tried to calm Drea down and talk to the stranger. Robin could not clearly hear what Roy said, but he assumed that he wanted her to wait until the man was proven hostile before she attacked.
The stranger, who was named Guldan, also talked about an entity named Mortia, and although Robin knew that she was a particularly evil and powerful sorcerer, he had no idea why anyone would want to know about somebody who had supposedly died years and years ago. Robin stayed silent, gazing fiercely at the man, already trying to sink into his mind to cast a spell if necessary.

She had looked at Robin attentively before the whole commotion with Guldan had occured. "Sure, I'll see if I can do this type of magic too." She wondered if he might be an alchemist, considering what he said about it being different from Roy's magic, but she then remembered that he knew how to control magic and all that and if he did know how to control the elements he wasn't likely to be an alchemist. No, probably just a sorcerer like Roy, but without all the other aspects that Roy used - the circles and the such. That would probably be easier for her, to tell the truth.
She suddenly became quiet when Roy told her to, silenced out of her anger by the words that Roy said. He was right, she was letting herself become to engrossed in her anger...if it really was her anger. It hadn't seemed like her anger. She was different when she was angry, when she was angry it was more like the time when they had been playing that game of elemental catch. This had seemed like Joerm's anger. She remembered the moment when they had felt like the same person. It was disconcerting, to say the least. Not to mention it had never happened before.
'I'm not a dragon,' she thought to herself. "Of course not," Joerm said with something that sounded like a snigger. "You can't even fly..." She looked for him, but suddenly she couldn't see him. Then she realised that he had gone behind Guldan, so that he could attack from the back if things got nasty and catch the man by surprise. He was a sneaky dragon, but in war everyone learned that it was better to be alive than to be honorable.

(OOC: Sorry for the wait i had to fix my computer) Guldan wasn't all too surprised to see most either angry or irritated, but the man who stood in front of him was different. Instead of most who would try to act apon him as he said that he wouldn't and didn't kill them, which he forgot to explain what it ment, not everyone read the assassin's codec of his society. This Roy, he shook hands with Guldan while he studied him, gathering information, but as well as being friendly, trying to avoid bloodshed, but it wasn't because Roy was afraid or wary of Guldan, but because he wanted to be friends? Now this surprised Guldan. Sighing, for now the dragon of the rider Drea was behind him, trying to attack him if Guldan proved more evil than they thought. Flexing his finger, not as to draw a weapon, but as a habit when he would explain something in great detail. "I am sorry that you may believe me hostile, but I am not I asure you. I sometimes forget that not all have read my society's codec on when you introduce the one you have stalked. When I say that i didn't kill you when I could, I ment it as advise that one of you should have been on guard or one of your mages set up any wards to announce to them the presence of another. Now I will tell you all I know of Mortia, as well as where I hail from, but I would perfer it sitting down in stead of standing here with a dragon that might attack me at any time, the irritated mage over there, and the angry rider who may also attack me at any moment, if I can sit, I will gladly give you the information you want, and the truth so as not to offend you, I also apoligize if I offended anyone here," Guldan stated, with a smile, hoping that, at least two of them would calm down, for he needed allies, and they didn't know it, but thay might need himn as well.

Only a misunderstanding a lack of communication between two parties, that is what started most conflicts and this situation was little different Roy noted as he gave a nod to Guldan, who asked politely to take a seat by the fire. “Why of course. Come sit with me my friend.” Roy motioned Guldan with his hand towards the camp fire and the various objects that could be sat on. He looked at Drea and gave her a large smile, but there was a slight look of 'I told you so' in his eyes. He glanced at Guldan and then at Joerm who he hadn't even had noticed creeping up behind the Rejegh I didn't even notice him, I must be loosing my senses' he though with a murmur escaping his lips.
Following Guldan to the fire Roy took his seat where the rest of his raiments laid, crossing his legs Indian style and looking up at Guldan. He reached to the side and snapped for Cyrus to come to his side, “Hey boy, what are you up too?” he gave another small laugh and started petting the dog's black fur. “So what information do you have? I've heard rumors of her return but I don't know too much of the current situation, and as you are the second to mention her.. It peaks my curiosity.” Roy's mind flashed with the stories he had read in his master's old book and parchments and it sent a small shiver down his spine, yet the thought of home brought him to another thought, where is Guldan from and why has he appeared to us?

Robin watched Roy and Guldan talk. It seems that Guldan's way was different from them, and that his 'threat' was intended as a caution. Robin relaxed slightly as Guldan apologized, although he was still gazing as him but with less anger. He still distrusted Guldan, because he had claimed that he could've killed them, and no matter how it was intended, it was still quite infuriating. That, and he was childishly angry because he was criticised as a magician, for not putting up wards.
Then, suddenly, they were about to discuss Mortia, an evil and supposedly dead sorcerer who was quite powerful in her time. Roy mentioned that a few rumors were flying around about how she apparantly has come back to life, but Robin was sceptical. Of course she was powerful, but powerful enough that she lived through death?
"Wait a minute," he called to the group. "I know about Mortia, a powerful sorcerer and all that, but are you serious? I mean, a long time ago, and she's still alive? How, why? he asked, somewhat incredulously, looking specifically at Guldan, who seemed to know a lot about the matter.

Sitting down near the fire, Guldan slowly started to begin his story.
"Mortai has been resurected, how or why i do not know, but what i do know is that she may be more powerful than before. As you can tell, I am an assassin, and my society has been secretly known only to nobles, we also would assassinate high ranking nobles that would be gaining new power and try to start a war that would not end well for all. We now have two wars on our hands, and the Mortai must be done first, you see we were planning to assassinate the invaders leader, but Mortai attacked us with spirits and killed all of my brethern, only our head assassin and I escaped, he telling me that I must perserve the society. Now Mortai is a spirit as well, but somehow she is also very different, I am not sure how, yet it is very confusing."
Guldan took a breath, he had told them alot, and he hoped they would accept him, he really needed some allies at this time. Flexing his fingers, he couldn't guess what would happen next...
