Under the ever-blackening night sky and what few stars had come out, the cool breeze which offset the heat of the night brushed across the River Tonhes sending the leaves of nearby bushes, shrubs and trees rustling. This otherwise peaceful scene was disturbed however, when a man came out from a particularly large bush.
Robin stumbled out from the bush, dragging his Rowan staff which was stuck between several branches. He was exhausted from walking and hiking for hours in order to reach the next Centre of Arysia. His cloak was dirty and rumpled, and on it were various leaves, sticks and soil. He clutched his stomach as it growled in hunger, for he had not eaten since the day before. He sighed, tired, and took off the hood that covered his rather appealing face, and sat down near the River Tonhes, where he was close enough that the occasional spray of water splattered across his face and his dirty cloak.
He set his load down from his back and onto the soft earth beside him. 'Ah, the water feels good', he thought to himself, and cheered up a bit. He inhaled deeply, resting, before he would try to cover more ground. He was surrounded by bushes in a small clearing near the River Tonhes, which he knew he had to follow in order to reach a town where he could buy some supplies, which he needed if he expected himself to survive.
'Ah, well, I'm sure I'll reach a town shortly,' he muttered, looking around once again. He saw the moon and its offspring, the stars, reflected across the vast surface of the River Tonhes, its beauty making Robin smile even more, but what he saw next made him even cheerier.
An orange light, clearly visible against the stark darkness, changing the color of its nearby surroundings from black to an fiery hue. The light, probably from a fire, indicated that someone was making camp.
Robin, who wanted company as mush as he wanted a warm meal in his empty stomach, recovered enough stamina to try and stagger toward the clearing where the light shined. He used his staff to help him stand up, and he bent down and recovered his pack, brushing it with his hands to remove the dirt and leaves which had settled in its bottom. He put on his hood over his head, and started to walk merrily toward the light, using his hands to get the most of the leaves off his robes.
Finally, afer walking a short distance, he reached his destination, settling himself behind a bush which blocked the light, which he was now certain was from a fire. His previous effort to remove leaves and dirt from himself was wasted, again he was covered by things of the sort.
He cautiously drove his head through the bush, smiling slightly underneath and asked in a cheerful voice, "Can I have some food?".

The breeze was getting heavier, and she waited quietly for Ray's answer, thinking about how sweet the smell of the night was. She looked at the stars above her silently, wondering why anyone would want to destroy such a beautiful world. It was just silly, cruel, and evil. Yes, evil. She took a deep breath, trying to shake off the sudden sleepiness that came from the essence of winter that was just a few steps ahead of all of them. But it was unwise to sleep in Arysian winters, especially outside. It could mean death or worse. Well, she had Joerm to keep her warm, but other people did not.
Her hand on her warm dragon, she looked up once again, clenching her hand into a fist over his hot, red scales. Suddenly, she felt him shift beneath her, and she knew he had heard something. In a fast moment, she was up and so was he, facing one of the nearby bushes. With her hand on the hilt of her dagger she took a cautious step ahead, towards it, when suddenly a head poked out from it. A smiling face. She almost fell back, but steadied herself at the last moment. Joerm snarled slightly at the second false warning of the day, and then turned and spread his wings, half-hopping half-flying towards her.
He was still just small, he couldn't fly half as well as big dragons. She stared at the face, but then she shrugged and said, "Come on in...but please bring the rest of your self too." Her voice was weary, cautious, she had learned very long ago that not everyone could be trusted. She looked at the food, there was more than enough left to feed the man, though it had become a little cold. She served it in a dish and laid it on a rock near her, waiting for the man to come through the bush.

When Robin heard a positive, though somewhat cautious, reply from the woman who served the food on a rock near her and a snarl from a creature that he didn't recognized, he crawled out of the bush, dragging his staff and his pack behind him and making quiet rustling sounds as he moved through the piece foliage. He wondered if he should pull off his hood, and concluded that if these people wanted to hurt him, they would've done so already, so he pulled of his hood, revealing his face and his fiery hair.
"Thank you," he said, still smiling at the woman, who he noticed was quite pretty but scarred, as he walked toward the rock where his food, which looked simply delectable after a day's worth of walking. He looked up, acknowledged the other man who was with the woman by nodding slightly, and received a shock as he saw the other creature in the camp.
He had not seen the dragon when he poked his face through the bush, as his vision was obscured by his hood, which had covered half his face, from the nose above, and now that he had seen it, Robin was a bit scared and very curious of the creature, which was red and looked rather fierce. 'So that's what made the snarl!' he thought, looking at it with his bright, brown eyes which were simply alive with curiosity. He had read about them before, of course, but this was the first time that he's seen one. He knew that it meant that the woman or the man was a Rider.
After his momentary pause, he continued toward the rock, though quite a bit more cautiously than before, set his staff against the rock and picked up his bowl of stew. He sat down, and swallowed a mouthful of the stew, which was cold but tasty and filling. He continued to eat a few more mouthfuls, but he could not contain his curiosity, and finally asked.
"So which one of you is the Dragon Rider?", moving his gaze from the man, to the woman and finally, to the dragon. He wanted to know more about them and the dragon, but he was sure he should at least know these people better before he should ask those questions.

“Of course I will each you magic, it is rather simple if you ask me.” With a smile he rolled up into a sitting position, his left leg laying on top of his right making it look like he was in a meditation stance. With his bright smile on his face he began to think up a training course for the woman, Drea was obviously willing to learn but he hoped she wouldn't hope for it to come to easily to her.
“I don't know if I have the talent though."
He rose his hand to her lips as she spoke, rotating his head from left to right. “If you don't feel your able to learn magic then forget about it. It isn't about talent! Anyone can learn magic with hard work and determination.” His eyes became probably the most serious she would see them in her life time as he spoke. He fixed his gaze in on her eyes for a moment before returning to his lax face and mellow smile, laying back on the ground again.
“Oh?” his curiosity was perked as Drea and Joerm tensed slightly. Joerm took flight and Drea grabbed her knife as a head popped into the clearing,
"Can I have some food?".
Roy let out a light laugh as the robed man entered the clearing on Drea's permission. The scene was all too similar to his arrival in the clearing. With another chuckle as she gave him the food he closed his eyes. “No need to be worried, we are friendly people to those who are kind in return. Calm down, Cyrus.” He reached back and gave the dog another scratch, stopping the light growling coming from his throat, “The boy means us no harm.” Cyrus laded down and sniffed Roy's head, then started growling again. “What?” He rolled up and looked at the dog, then remembered, “Right... bath...” he rose and pointed towards the river, “The dragon is hers.” He pointed to Drea as he turned from the clearing. “I'll be back in a moment, Cyrus needs a bath.”
Cyrus lead Roy down to the river and jumped in happily, splashing around the bank. “Yeah yeah, I know your happy.” He shed off his clothing and jumped into the cold water after his friend. “aqua flamma” He cast the spell, a small fire sprouting on the water's surface began to heat it. “Now get over here!” He dived after Cyrus and began the 'fun' process of bathing the dog.
With a snap the fire went out and he left the water, followed by a black dog who treaded on brown paws. “So that's your real coat, looks better then dirt and mud. Now come close and I'll dry us off.” He crouched down and placed on hand on the dog's head and snapped with the other, “Siccus somes” In an instant the water evaporated off their bodies and left the both of them dry as when they went in. He put his clothing back on and followed Cyrus back to the camp. Pushing through the bushed he looked at the two, “So what'd I miss?”

She watched eagerly as Roy sat up. There was something very excited in her expression, unbridled excitement, that made Joerm look at her and then rest his long, thin neck on her lap. And then Roy suddenly became very, very serious, and said that anyone could learn magic. She looked into his eyes, wondering who had lied to her. Somehow, in the back of her mind she had always known. She had known Roy for perhaps half and hour and she knew she could trust him. "Oh..." she said in her quiet voice, "It's not that I doubt that I can learn it or that you can teach it, it's just that someone told me..." He had probably lied to her about that as well as everything else anyway, so she did not continue. "I'd love to learn. How did you do that?" She lifted her hand, then tried to copy the quick motion she had seen him to do, but failed marvelously as the other man suddenly appeared in the clearing.
She glanced at Roy as he laughed. What was the laughing matter in strangers popping out of bushes? She really didn't get it. She shook her head, and then continued looking at the strange man, who had now come out of the bushes and sat down nearby, and had also lowered his hood. She glanced at the bright hair, and then smiled uncomfortably. She had never been good with strangers, especially not ones who surprised her. She watched as Cyrus barked, but she could not trust his judgement, dogs barked at all strangers. She had to turn to her best friend instead.
"Joerm?" she questioned mentally, her head turned towards her small but undoubtedly fierce red dragon. The dragon raised his long, snaked neck, and his head came up as high as her face. "Don't know.." he said to her, mentally, then turned and faced the man with the brown eyes, testing him. Joerm walked a few steps towards the man, not threateningly but not innocently, either.
"Yes, he's mine," she said perhaps a little too possessively after Roy said it, but to her there was nothing more justified. If someone would hurt Joerm she would have hunted them down to the depths of hell and killed them herself. He was all he had left now, anyway. She shook her head and then sat down on her rock again. Joerm also sat down, head on his claws, mid-way between her and the stranger.
She looked at Roy and Cyrus as they went off into the clearing, leaving her alone with the stranger. Gods be good, she had never been good with conversation. "Uhhh...hello, I'm Drea. And this is Joerm..." she pointed to the gorgeous red dragon. "And I'm his rider...uh...not really because he's not big enough to ride but you get my meaning." She cleared her throat nervously, and waited for him to say something, feeling sillier by the moment as she waited. She fidgeted slightly, pushing back a strand of her brown hair, then shifting slightly on the rock. She waited for Joerm to laugh at her, but he was still too busy observing the stranger. She could here splashing from somewhere to her right.
And then Roy was back again, miraculously clean and dry. She wondered about that for a moment and then remembered that he knew magic. And that he was going to teach her. She looked at him and then at the dog following him, who she didn't recognize for a moment. "You found another dog - oh.." she said when she saw the brown paws. "Cyrus looks much better as a black dog," she said with a small laugh.

Robin noticed that the man and the woman were discussing something before he had interupted them, although he was sure that it was not about him. The man revealed that the woman was the dragon rider. Robin nodded in acknowledgement of the fact, and resolved to know more about the man, woman and dragon.
The dog, who was with the man, barked at Robin, which was natural since he was a stranger, as the woman consulted with her dragon, perhaps to communicate about whether the dragon found him trustworthy or not. The dragon then approached him with a few steps, all the while gazing at his eyes. He felt a slight unease at being stared at by the dragon, but let the eye contact between them to continue for the moment, in an attempt to show that he had nothing to hide.
Robin looked at the the woman as she then confirmed that she was the dragon's rider, and with the tone that the confirmation was delivered, she seemed determined to protect her dragon from anything.
Robin grinned sheepishly when he heard that the man and his dog, who the man referred to as 'Cyrus', were going to take a bath. He had not taken a bath himself for days, and he knew that he was beginning to smell bad. 'I suppose there will be better times to take a bath,' he thought somewhat disgusted at himself for not taking a bath earlier as he was right next to the River Tonhes.
Then the woman introduced herself and her dragon, who was named Joerm, somewhat nervously. The woman pushed back a strand of her brown hair as she waited for him to reply, which caused Robin to have a fleeting thought of how his hair looked. He almost laughed at himself for having such a concern, for he was taught that how another person looked wasn't important when compared to their personality.
Robin smiled at the woman, who was named Drea, and said, feeling slightly nervous himself, "Hello, Drea, Joerm, I'm Robin, a sorcerer from the North." He felt that it would be fine to reveal himself as a sorcerer to these people, since they did not seem to want to harm him.
To prove that he was indeed a magician, he murmured under his breath a spell and cast a small fireball at the already roaring fire. The fireball hurtled and combined with the campfire, which had become bigger and hotter.
The man and his dog, which now was black, instead of the brown it was before, came back, both noticably cleaner than before. They were both dry, and how Robin did not know. 'Perhaps the man is a magician as well?' he thought to himself, and asked, "How could you be dry immediately after bathing? Are you a magician as well?"

“You found another dog - oh.." Roy clenched his side and fell to the ground. He gasped for breath between violent laughs as he rolled back and forth on the forest floor wasting the bath he had just taken. He opened his tightly shut eyes for a moment and looked at Drea, Cyrus, then back at Drea and continued to laugh. “I guess I did! I sent Cyrus into the water and out came this crazy mutt!” His laughing started to calm down as Cyrus walked over to Drea and gave her a lick for the complement, giving her two happy barks to go with it.
”"How could you be dry immediately after bathing? Are you a magician as well?" Roy rolled up into a crossed leg sitting position, and stopped laughing. He looked Robin in the eyes and saw something he liked though he currently didn't have the attention span to place his finger on exactly what it was. “Dry instantly, I don't know what your talking about, who is to say I was ever wet?” He asked with his absent minded smile upon his face.
The flames pushed to the side as a soft wind blew into the clearing and mixing with the light of the moon, created an eerie sort of light. “Roy the magician, that title would be great, awesome even, if I wanted to do jobs in Royal Courts and majestic Parties. But I am a wanderer, not a magician.” Inside Roy knew that what he said would most likely come off as offensive, but he hoped the boy and Drea could withstand his sarcastic humor, but just in case...
Roy knelled forward and placed his hand on the ground next to the fire, whispering under his breath as he quickly traced his magical circle in the dirt. His smile widened as he stood up and placed his foot on the spot he had drawn on. 'Flamma Imperium” The fire in front of him grew in size, rising up into a column, he clasped his hands together and then started to move them around, the fire following the movements of his hands. “Do you know how to play Elemental Catch? It is a game Master and I used to play back when I was in training. Catch the fire.” He rolled his hands and formed the fire into a ball, and smiled at Robin. “I'm no magician, not a dabbler in the arts for profit. I'm a mage. Catch,” Roy tossed the fire ball to Robin, with out waiting to know if he was skilled enough to even play the game.

She grinned as Roy started laughing madly, and then laughed slightly with him. Even Joerm laughed slightly, as was his fashion, but it sounded more like he was sick. He turned back to her and then looked at her when she thought that, but then he turned again to the sorcerer. Somehow the man had not yet passed Joerm's test, despite having looked at Joerm in the eyes for a really long time. Drea did not think he was a danger to her, not truly, but then, she trusted Joerm more than her instinct.
She smiled as Cyrus came to her, licking her, and she patted the dog on the forehead. She had never had a pet, but she thought she would have liked to have had a pet. Joerm had turned again when the dog had run towards her, and he was also now coming towards her. He had jumped up in the air and glided over to her, landing a foot or so away. "Jealous, Joerm?" she asked him with a small smile, but the proud red dragon did not give her any reply. She let Cyrus, who was wriggling away, go, and then looked again at her two companions, who had now become serious.
What Roy was saying made sense. How had both she and Robin reached that conclusion? It was just something she had assumed. And she was looking at Robin again, who introduced himself as a sorcerer from the north. How had she ended up in that clearing with two sorcerers? It was strange, almost scary. But at least she had Joerm to protect her, warm and strong and lying beside her, observing both magicians with an air of boredom. She also knew that as small as he was, he could not protect her from both of them. Well, she was not without weapon either. She kept her right hand near the dagger, waiting and observing both of them.
And then Roy started with some game, a game which involved throwing fire at each other and then catching it. She shook her head at him. Hopefully Robin would be able to play the game too. And then Joerm got it into his head that he liked the game too, so he threw a fireball of his own at Roy...She got up immediately. It was unlikely that such a game could be played with dragon fire. "Joerm, stop it!" she screamed angrily, but the damage was done, the ball of fire was going to Roy...what would happen next?

The man laughed, rather maniacally in Robin's opinion. The man's laughs echoed across the darkness, shattering the quietness that had been there before. The laugh also gave Robin a reason to laugh as well, since it was always welcome to share one's laughter when the occasion calls. He could also hear Joerm, the red dragon, make sounds that could be interpreted as coughs, but Robin thought that the dragon was laughing with them as well.
When the man stopped laughing looked at him in the eye, Robin followed suit. The man then questioned them why they assumed that he was even wet before he came up to the camp. Robin considered his point, although he still thought that he should've been at least a bit wet, since Cyrus probably did not wash by himself, and even if Cyrus did wash, why was he dry already?
Robin listened intently as the man, who was named Roy, said that he would be called a magician if he did jobs for the ruling families of the land, but he did not and instead of a magician, he referred to himself as a wanderer. Robin thought that Roy sounded somewhat bitter, as if he didn't was to be called a magician, nor to serve the Courts, Lord, Ladies and Councils.
He then watched as Roy knelled down beside the fire, moving his finger through the dirt while smiling. He then stood up, while Robin leaned forward, interested in what he was doing, as he felt an air of power descend upon Roy. Then, the fire brew bigger while Roy moved his hands, the flames eagerly following his movements.
Robin was mesmerized at the display of flame control, as the flames seemed to hypnotize him and control his attention. His concentration upon the fire was then broken when Roy described a game, 'Elemental Catch,' where two people threw and caught flames. Roy went on and revealed that he was a mage, and not someone who sold his skill.
Robin was surprised when a ball of flame hurtled toward him. Time seemed to slow as the glowing orange ball of heat and energy raced through the air, intent on colliding with his chest. He could only thrust his hand forward, as his worded a spell to slow and control the fireball.
The fireball stopped at the palm of his outstretched hand, as if bound by some invisible force. Robin then heard Drea's scream, and instinctively, he looked to where she was and saw her dragon, Joerm, sending a blast of fire, similar to the one he held, toward Roy.
Robin did the only thing that he could at the moment; throw the fire back, and hope that the two flames would collide and negate themselves. He sent the fireball forward, toward the path of Joerm's fire, wishing that his aim was true, and that his fireball was enough to match a dragon's flames.

As Robin chanted his incantation and slowed the fireball the game had begun. Roy's eyes became focused on the game, and the joys playing it offered. He smirked and turned his tanned arm upside down, beckoning with his hand for Robin to send it back to him. “Alright, now as hard as you can send it back! Let's get this game going!” He readied himself to catch the flame, his hand was open and his arm out stretched. "Joerm, stop it!"
The words broke Roy out of his competitive stare just as Robin launched the flame back towards him. He turned his head to the side and watched as Joerm's fire blast came rushing towards him, then quickly snapped back to watch the one Robin had launched. “Alright.” He said with a slight gleam of mischief radiating from his eyes as he pressed his feet into the dirt under him. “Flamma Imperium” He jumped in front of Robin's flame and spun, grabbing it with his magic and then tossed it towards Joerm, then with another strong leap he reached out for Joerm's fire, and placed his hand into it going for a catch.
“OWWWIIEEEE” he screamed as the fire burned his hands before dissipating into the air. Distracted by the burn he grabbed his wrist, pulling it into his chest as he crashed into the dirt, but that act only fueled his lust to be in the game, as he nearly immediately rolled back up to his feet. “That burned. Well I figure I need a new spell if I wish to control Dragon fire. Should have known but what can I do now, let get the game going!” the smirk returned as he rendered his focus back onto the game and it's pleasures. “Lets keep it moving, don't get burned like me Joerm!”

She was on her feet, and she was staring at the both of them. First it was Robin who seemed mad to her, instead of stopping the game he had continued, so that there were now not one but two fireballs coming towards him. What were they trying to do, kill each other? Was this the kind of game magician's played regularly? They seemed a strange class of people to her. And then suddenly Roy turned the fireball to speed towards Joerm once again. She watched him, mersemerized by the glow of the fire, not really thinking how he would conteract the fireball.
And then suddenly Roy tried to catch Joerm's fireball and burned himself...she gasped as she watched him yell in pain. And then he seemed the maddest to her, because of the way he got up from that and decided to continue the silly game! She would have shouted at him and Robin and everyone else too, except that suddenly, the fireball was almost on to the place where she and Joerm were standing. Rather than try to catch, Joerm just blew the ball of fire gently towards Robin. She had not even known that he knew how to do that.
Suddenly she felt absurdly angry at Joerm and the two guys too. "You all are mad..." she said angrily as she walked off to the river that was bubbling near her, angry tears suddenly in her eyes. She sat down at the river bank and wiped them off, trying to get into control again but somehow the fire was having an odd effect on her. She could hear Cyrus barking, probably scared by the fire as well, and thought that she should have brought him away from the madness too. What was surprising was that Joerm was still there, that he hadn't followed her yet. It made her feel oddly empty.

After Robin returned the fireball sent to him, smiling, he watched Roy as he pulled off an impressive display in dodging and then returning the fireball toward Joerm, although it was marred when he was burned by the dragon's fire, which seemed as if it was different from normal flames. 'This game is quite exciting...if I don't get hurt!' he thought to himself, still impressed by the skill of both his opponents.
He had a glance at Joerm and Drea. Joerm, whose emotions weren't easily made out, seemed to be enjoying himself, perhaps entranced by the game of flames as well. Drea, on the other hand, was fuming. Robin didn't know why she was, although if he had to guess, he would say that the reason for her anger involved the dangerous game they were playing. Suddenly, as he was about to look away, Joerm redirected a fireball towards him, while Drea berated then angrily for playing the 'stupid game' and left the clearing.
'Oh great, she got mad!' Robin thought as he watched Drea walk away. He tore his gaze off her for a moment and looked at te fireball heading towards him. He muttered a spell to allow him to grab the fireball without being burned, and clutched it in his hand grinning at his sucess and threw it back to Joerm. He looket at Roy and asked him, "Shouldn't you chase after her? She seemed a bit angry to me..."

"You all are mad..."
This snapped Roy completely out of his completive trance, he looked to the side and watched as Drea turned around and stomped off out of the clearing and into the trees. He looked towards the tree line and then back at he game, and then to the trees. What is wrong with elemental catch... Maybe she is angry because she can't play the game... yet. his mind flew with ideas on what about the simple game had made the hardened war veteran so angry. There was no way in his mind that it could be the slight dangers of the game, she was in war. SO what could it be...
"Shouldn't you chase after her? She seemed a bit angry to me..." Roy looked at Robin with a quick turn of the head, “You are right, but I wonder what has her upset... I'll be back.” Roy pivoted and ran off into the trees, with his faithful companion by his side. “Cyrus, stay here and watch the two, make sure they don't plan anything.” Cyrus stopped and sat down, raising his paw as if to salute him as he broke into the forest. “Where did you go?” His hand burned as it smacked against passing branches and leaves.
“Drea, where are you” he said softly as he crossed through the threshold of greenery that blocked him from the river. HE looked down upon the back and scanned it, looking up and down only to spot some forest animals in the close vicinity. “Did she turn up stream, or I turn down stream?” he asked himself as he started to walk up the bank. He searched both sides of the river for a few moments before she finally came into sight. “There you are.” The wind picked up as he approached her, as if her spirit was trying to prevent him from coming to close.
“What is wrong? Why are you sad Drea, is it about the game?” He sat down next to her and placed his hand on her shoulder. “Hey don't worry about it, you will know magic soon and be able to join in with ease.” Roy took his arm off her shoulder and placed his finger in the dirt, and began drawing another magic circle in the bank. “Here place your fingers on the circle and say these words. 'Terra Imperium, Ortus'” as he spoke the earth under his finger's rose up into a small spire. “This is an earth control spell. Terra meaning Earth, Imperium meaning control and Ortus meaning rise. Many of the spells I use come from Imperium spells that allow me to control the elements, then as I gain better control I can use more advanced spells. Try it.” he pressed down on the ground and it returned back to normal. “I use the circle as a catalyst so I don't drain my magic power as fast, it could be down with out one, but it would be more of a toll on the body.”

What was it that made her so angry? She couldn't tell herself. It wasn't that she was scared of it or that she was upset that she couldn't play the game. It was more ingrained, something that made her hate the fire. Something about those flames attracted her more than she knew, and yet repelled her at the same time. She was fuming and she was scared and she was upset about being scared. It was a sensation that she couldn't understand, and that just scared her more. Where was Joerm, though? Still playing? She was angry at him and yet she could not be angry at him.
"Joerm?" she said, hesitant. His reply was quick. "Drea? Why did you go?" She looked to the clearing where her dragon was, and then wondered how to reply to him in a way that would not make her sound completely crazy. And then suddenly she heard someone in the clearing...Roy, was it? A sudden gust of wind blew a few leaves on her, which she removed from her hair and dress as he came closer. And she wondered what she could say to him.
He stopped and sat down next to her, comfortingly, and somehow her fears seemed a little silly then. She took a deep breath and wondered how to answer his question. "It's just...I don't like the fire." She stopped. "No, that's not true. I like fire. I like sitting next to fires in the night and watching them burn and watching Joerm breathe fire but...I don't know. It was horrible. For a moment I was so angry and so scared and so upset..." She stopped, again, because now she knew what it was. "It's just that I don't like being alone...before Joerm hatched I was always alone and somehow I just...I hate being left out, and maybe that's it." She smiled nervously. "Silly, I know. I'm sorry I disturbed your game and everything-" She looked at him. "Thanks for coming but I-"
And then suddenly he was teaching her the magic. It was odd really. She smiled and looked curiously at the circle that he drew on the ground, intricate patterns that she could not see in the darkness. She placed a finger on it, lightly, afraid to smidge the lines of the circle. "Terra-Imperium Ortus," she said quietly. The spire rose under her finger as well, like Roy's. It was amazing...she was able to do magic! Nothing great, of course, but this was a start...She stopped to ask Roy a question. "What happens if you draw the magic circle wrong or something like that? Or say the words wrong? Nothing...or something dangerous?"

Robin sighed as Roy left, leaving him alone in the camp with the flames and Joerm, whom he was rather uncomfortable with. The dragon seemed intelligent, of course, but Robin felt that its trust was difficult to gain, as if it only trusted its partner. He nervously inched away slightly from the dragon, hoping that it won't be wary of him, as he did cause its partner to get mad.
He sat down, wondering what those two were doing. He imagined that Roy would be comforting Drea, perhaps about the game. He wondered why she got angry so suddenly. Was she jealous of their power? Afraid perhaps? These thoughts raced through Robin's mind as he lied down on the cool, slightly moist grass, his hands behind his head. He yawned and idly stared at the stars, which had now come out overhead, giving the surroundings a surreal glow of moon and star light.
A few moments passed by, and he sat up, looking at the fire nearby. He remembered how Roy controlled the fire; how he drew something on the ground and that muttered a spell of some sort. He was confused at that. His spellcasting was of a different style which focused less on drawing diagrams and uttering spells. His style, which was taught to him by his parents, simply involved thinking of the desired effect he wished to achieve and then exerting enough energy to make it happen. It required severe mental concentration, for the slightest of mistakes could lead to a disaster. Spells were random, only phrases used to help oneself imagine the effect that one wishes to produce, and were not entirely required.
Robin concentrated and tried to control the flames. He practiced by carefully moving it around, and as he got the better of it, he started to bend the flames with his mind, exerting little energy in twisting it into spirals and stretching it across the camp, occasionally sending a small lick to the space near Joerm playfully, but keeping it away from the nearby plants to avoid an accident, keeping himself busy while he waited for his companions to come back to the clearing.
