The snow was blowing harder each minute. Vision got worse and worse with each passing minute, and it was getting colder. The only way to stay warm was to somehow to start a fire, and bundle up in as many blankets as possible. It was night on the Khun mountains, and anyone smart was already gone. It wasn't that he wasn't smart, just that he was stubborn.
Tralos held his hand out in front of his face, blocking the snow from hitting his face. He could hardly stand from the wind, and his limbs were starting to go numb, but he kept trudging forward. His horse had died from the cold long ago, and it was only his spell of warmth that kept him going, but he knew he would have to set up camp here in the next hour or so.
Tralos threw his pack down onto the snow, and glanced around. He had to make sure no one was near, being a mercenary gave him a lot of enemies. After quickly unpacking his tent, he checked the perimeter to make sure no one was near. He thought he saw a shadow, but he didn't quite know, so he headed back and set up his tent. He would stand out and continue checking the perimeter until he was so cold he couldn't stand it anymore, and then he would go to bed.

Finding no one, he found the surroundings to his appeal. No one would find him in these mountains, especially during this snow storm. He quickly used a small fire spell to melt some of the snow on the mountainside until he had created a small cave. He dragged his tent into the cave, and began cooking his dinner using a heat spell and what he had left of food. He needed to go down for food soon. The only reason he was up in these mountains was because he was searching for clues about his family's lost heirloom, a mighty blade with incredible powers.
He tossed in the potatoes and the beef that he had dried before coming up into the mountains. The soup would be meager, but better than nothing. He decided that he would head down the mountain tomorrow, and go hunting. He needed food soon, anyhow. He stood after adding the ingredients, and made a small heat shield across mouth of the small cave he had created. It would prevent the freezing cold from getting in, and melt the snow outside to keep it from piling up. He wasn't an expert on shield magic, but he was better with it than most. Of course, he would never be as good with it as he was with his enhancement magics.
Tralos sighed as he took off his heavy winter jacket and prepared to sleep. He didn't sleep much of late, but he knew he would have to tonight. He stirred the soup, and began to eat, still glancing at the entrance to the cave every now and then. The snow was melting as it hit the heat shield, and freezing at the mouth of the cave. He hoped it would soon clear up, or it would be a miserable trip down the mountain.
